ITECAM is part of the Cervera INTEGRID Network of Excellence, a consortium that promotes artificial intelligence in the management of the electricity grid

The Technology Centre Itecam participate in the Cervera INTEGRID Network of Excellence (Integration of Energy Resources and Smart Grid Management), a national consortium funded by the Centre for Technological Development and Innovation (CDTI) of the Ministry of Science, Innovation and Universities. This is an initiative of research and development oriented improve the operational efficiency of the energy system as a whole. Through INTEGRID, the aim is to provide innovative solutions and create a more efficient, resilient network prepared for the challenges of the energy transition.

INTEGRID brings together five Technology Centres nationally recognized and multidisciplinary experts in fields such as energy and electrical systems, digitalization, artificial intelligence, big data and storage technologies. CIRCE It is the coordinating entity of the network, of which the following are also part TECNALIA, ITIAICIA and ITECAMThe common goal of the centres through this three-year project is to consolidate an ecosystem of excellence in the field of efficient and sustainable energy management, to generate advanced knowledge and then transfer it to the business sector.

The role of ITECAM: digitization and artificial intelligence at the service of the electrical system

Itecam focuses its participation in the network on its expertise in artificial intelligence, quantum computing, and digital twins applied to the industrial and energy sectors. Within the INTEGRID framework, the center will contribute its capabilities in developing artificial intelligence models and hybrid quantum-classical algorithms to optimize network operation, the integration of distributed energy resources, and industrial cybersecurity.

To Itecam, to be part of INTEGRID - together with CIRCE, TECNALIA, ITI AICIA represents a strategic step in its continued commitment to digital technologies applied to energy and in strengthening its position as a leader in industrial innovation in Castilla-La Mancha. This also expands its network of collaboration with technology centres and companies nationwide.

A project aligned with the energy transition and technological sovereignty

INTEGRID aligns with the priorities of the Integrated National Energy and Climate Plan (PNIEC 2021-2030) and the European Green Deal. This initiative addresses five key technologies for the electricity system of the future: smart grid planning and operation; renewable energy integration and flexibility management; energy storage systems; digitalization, big data, and artificial intelligence; and cybersecurity and resilience of the electricity system.

The network is supported by a Technical Advisory Committee made up of companies in the energy sector, including REDEIA, ENDESA, REPSOL, EDP, ENAGAS, DIGGIA, GFM, ISFOC, olivoENERGY, SOLARIA, TSK, UNESID, and VIDRALA. This committee ensures that technological developments meet real market needs.

This project has been funded by the Ministry of Science, Innovation and Universities, promoted by the Centre for Technological Development and Innovation (CDTI) through the CERVERA Programme for Technological Centres (file EXP-00180231 / CER-20251033, 2026-2028).
