The applied research and technological development center TECNALIA has completed the renovation of its semi-anechoic chamber at the Electromagnetic Compatibility (EMC) laboratory Located in Derio, it is a key infrastructure for the development of secure, sustainable electronic equipment that complies with international standards.
Inaugurated in 2000, the chamber has undergone a major technical upgrade, including a new, state-of-the-art radio frequency absorption coating. This technological advancement allows for EMC testing up to 6 GHz in a shielded, interference-free environment, ensuring optimal conditions for validating electronic products before they are marketed.
The upgraded infrastructure provides a controlled environment where real-world scenarios are simulated, allowing for the evaluation of equipment electromagnetic behavior under actual operating conditions. This environment is essential for ensuring regulatory compliance, improving device reliability, and contributing to product sustainability and safety in the market.
The renewal is part of a broad range of EMC services that TECNALIA Its laboratory, which also includes several Faraday rooms for conducting tests according to a wide range of international standards, offers a comprehensive range of testing capabilities. Electronic devices for various sectors are tested in this facility, with a particular focus on the energy sector, where new testing capabilities have been incorporated, such as the fast damped oscillatory wave test, a key requirement for equipment used in this field.
The project has benefited from the support of key experts and collaborators in the sector. Wavecontrol and GR EMC SOLUTIONS have contributed their expertise in EMC installations and the provision of testing solutions, while ETS-Lindgren, manufacturer of the semi-anechoic chamber of TECNALIASeibersdorf Laboratories, a specialist in technical validations of complex environments, participated in the design, implementation, and official validation of the solution. Their collaboration ensured the quality, accuracy, and compliance with the most demanding standards.
With this renewed infrastructure, TECNALIA It enters a new phase of innovation and service. It now has cutting-edge technology to meet the needs of the industry and electronic equipment manufacturers, offering them a reliable, precise, and highly specialized testing environment.
